Striking with or without gloves
Hitting the panel with gloves or bare hands
You have a machine pressed onto the drywall, the phone is linked over the wireless connection, and the first light pattern is running across the front. The question before the first round starts is whether hands go onto the cover bare or wrapped in a pair of gloves.
What the fist meets on the wall
Every panel we build puts a padded cover between the strike and the wall behind it. The machine absorbs the contact as the counter tallies the score, so the hand meets the cushioned face rather than hard plaster. Whether that contact feels right without gloves depends on how hard you throw and how long you work. Some people run rounds with bare hands while others want something over their knuckles from the start. We leave that choice to whoever stands at the wall.
What comes out of the packaging
Several machines and pads arrive with a pair of gloves inside the carton, cut to fit the person that build is aimed at. Other builds arrive with only the machine and the mounting strips. We do not sell gloves separately or supply custom sizes on their own. If the machine you pick arrives without them, or if the included pair does not fit the hands in your house, any standard pair of training gloves or wraps from another maker works on the front.
Making the call for your rounds
Start by putting a few hits into the padded face to see how the cover feels against the skin. If you want more between your knuckles and the machine, put on wraps or gloves before speeding up the lights. For younger hands working on the pads, using the gloves that arrive in the box is an easy way to get them comfortable with the pace. The counter registers the hit through the padding either way, so work however you prefer.
